How To Fill Ram Slots Online
Fill All Ram Slots
What do you think?
And what about memory brands? Is Altas Good? If not what is do you recommend?
To expand on the slots filled vs performance, Dual channel RAM needs two slots filled (they are normally colour coded pairs, but the order of the slots can vary by manufacturer), So adding two sticks of RAM to the wrong slots will give you the capacity you fitted, but the RAM will only run in Single channel mode (a lower performance than Dual. The 7700k supports up to 64gb of ddr4, I don't see a reason to buy any more as you won't be able to utilize it. Also, z270 is a consumer chipset and only supports dual channel memory. It won't improve anything speed-wise filling all 4 slots. If the speeds differ, the motherboard runs the memory chips at the speed of the slowest chip. Finally, if you are only installing two memory modules at a time make sure the memory is installed into the proper memory slots. Almost always the memory slots will be color-coded to indicate the memory channel, as shown in the picture below. Most mobos work like this: 2 ram sticks go in slot 2 - 4 if you have 4 sticks put em all in. My msi manual told me to put it in slot 2 - 4 too akd iv got 8gbs in 2 sticks. Plus its a commen way of indtalling ram since it uses dual channel. My mobo has got 8 DIMM slots and I'm picking the RAM to go into them. How can I fill all 8 DIMM slots? Can I use TWO quad channel kits with all identical brand, capacity and timing? Will it all perform the same as a 8x RAM set? Or will my computer explode? Obviously I do not need 64GB of RAM which exists for 8x RAM sets. I'm referring to 2x.
